Which pet insurance is the best for a dog?

I checked Petplan, which everyone says is good its £11.76 per month.

But Tesco are £6.89 per month...

But petplan ask for £50 excess on each condition of Vet fees, which is ok.

Tesco havent stated what their number is...

So i need help...Which one is better? or what insurance company is better?

  1. I use the nfu - national farmers union. Check what is actually covered. Some insurances do not pay out if your dog suffers from a condition that  will need medication for life.

  2. i insured my  3 year old jack russell terrier with tesco and they were brilliant when my dog had a allergic reaction when he was stung by a wasp. i payed 45 excess on each condition and i payed 7.89 a month. i would tecommend

  3. PetPlan all the way. I had a dig suffering from Diabetes insipidus and Petplan paid out about 5000 - 6000 pounds until the day she died age 11 1/2.

PetPlan (Premium) is expensive, but they pay out for chronic diseases for a lifetime + theys have 3 million third party insurance.

What is the point in paying only a few Pounds a month but when you really need the insurance there is a cup on how much you can claim!

  4. Pet plan is the best i had only paid 1 months payment when my puppy broke her leg they paid out nearly £800 in vets fees. Do not go with Tesco as my last dog had lots of on going skin problems and Tesco would only pay out for the 1st vet bill they would not pay any more as it was an on going health problem.

  5. http://www.compare-pet-insurance.com/pet...

Try this link as it tells you all the different pet insurance companies how much you will save with each online and the star ratings

    Hope this helps

  6. When I checked I found Morethan a great policy, best weighing up the different things different companies cover and upto how much they cover for

  7. Well we have pet plan. We got six weeks free insurance from the breeder, and had to use the vet within that six weeks.

Pet plan paid the vet bill with no fuss whatsoever.

We took insurance out with them.

    Hope that helps! :)

  8. I am with Petplan and I know that they will continue to pay out for the same condition for the duration of a dogs life. My premiums are higher than what you have been quoted, however my GSD has had numerous problems and for the last two years I have probably had more from them than they have had from me. Thankfully my dog is now fit and healthy. Check with Tesco and ask if their cover is for the life of the dog. Lots of  companies will cease their cover if your dog has  an ongoing problem and then its impossible to insure your dog elsewhere.

  9. I have used More Th>n for several years, and have never had any problems; claims have been settled within a couple of days. A friend of ours has her dog insured with Tesco, and is still waiting for her claim to be settled nearly four months on!!
