Question:

Which pet would be best?

my parents both own a vet clinic and my mom was thinking about getting a caged pet to put in the lobby for people to look at. The only requirements are:

-something easy to take care of (feed every other day or so, water, don't have to clean cage too much)

-something people will want to look at and won't be scared of(no spiders, snakes, hermit crabs.....)

-also, something that doesn't crave human attention, or that can live in pairs where they don't get lonely. Obviously my parents would be busy a lot and not have time to just sit there and play with it.

I was thinking turtles, but i don't know much about them, if you could tell me a little about them it would be great.

ANY other suggestions would be great, just tell me why they would be a good pet for this situation.

I'm up there sometimes but not a lot (about once or twice a week) so it would have close to no human interaction.

  1. You can get a hamster or mouse or maybe a parakeets they can live in pairs=)

  2. Ferrets are great pets that dont need a lot of attention. I think it would serve well in your parents clinic. But your parents and you will have to take care of it as if it was their pet.

  3. fish..a gold fish.. or a wolverine.

  4. turtles need to be taking care of quite a lot. of course if no one wants an animal that needs attention they would go for a fish or turtle or frog or somthing.

but a rabbit would be good. you need a big cage though.

and keep the cage clean every 2-3 days......

go with somthing aquatic if you don't want somthing as complicated as a rabbit.

a turtle is very easy but could die it you forget to do somthing as small as miss an hour of feeding.

    hope this helps!

  5. Well, turtles are your best bet. Or a fish tank, but that has much more maintenance involved in it. But it does lower blood pressure in people when they look at it. cool, I know! OK, for turtles I have to say the common must turtle is the best. They stay about 5 inches long, and need a 55 gallon tank for 2. They could live in it there whole lives! It would also look very pretty if it was taken care of good! Here is some info!

With turtles you need to have a good filter and feed them once a day. With a fish tank you need to do a water change once a week and make sure you cycle it properly. After that you just feed it once a day! Here is a good sight on setting up your first aquarium!

I know aquariums are a lot of work, but they really are fun...and addicting...

Edit: sry, I posted the fish b4 I say what you added. Hedgehogs would be cool! Here is a caresheet on them- http://www.hedgehogsbyvickie.com/hedgeho...

  6. a hamster or rabbit is too cool and cute

or even a poodle or shih-tzu sounds cute too...

    ^^

  7. lol i dont know

  8. The only pet that doesn't need much attention is a fish or turtle. Im not sure if they are legal to buy in Ga, but some states sell those little tiny turtles. I know they have a mall stand in Florida selling them. all you need is a tank withpart gravel and part water or something they can climb on to walk around. they dont require any attention at all. just feed them daily.

  9. Multimammate mice (commonly called African soft-furred rats for no good reason) are cute and need little attention. They smell less than regular mice and prefer a small group and don't need much interaction at all.

Check for legality in your area.

Hedgehogs are illegal almost everywhere. They are extremely extremely high maintanence and need very specialized care and diet.

  10. A stuffed Cobra or other stuffed animal.

  11. a pet girraffe

  12. the crabs! yaya! :)

  13. What about a golfish? They are eazy.
