i think it depends on where you live, and which phone has the best service there.

Verizon and Alltel are pretty much the top two. Verizon had better ratings than Alltel with the phones they come out with. Both had great ratings for coverage. Both had poor ratings in customer service but were better than all the rest. I like Alltel because of the circle plan and the fact that I live on my phone. I couldn't afford to keep Verizon. Plus like I said I've had bad experiences when it comes to customer service and my friend is having problems with them about fixing her 900 dollar cell for the 3rd time due to a broken internal antennae. Both have great phones to choose from but I think Verizon has some better ones. I like how Verizon does the new every two. You are up to get a new phone every two years. I think its like 100 dollars off plus the money off for signing a new contract and if you get it off like you get even more off. Phones are cheaper if you get two year contracts but if you can't stay for two years they offer a 1 yr but the phone will cost more. If you can afford to pay for the phone in full you won't have to sign a contract at all.

Whatever you do stay away from T-mobile, sprint and At&t.

I do a lot of traveling and my experience says that Verizon has the best signal. My Verizon phone works places other people with T-mobile and Sprint couldn't use their phones.

Verizon comes out with a lot of features before anyone else. My favorite is the song id that is provided for free by verizon.
