Which phone is the best for first-timers?

I dont know where you live. Metro pcs is goodYou pay a one month plan for like 60 bucks. You get unlinited texting phone calls local and long distance. couple of other things hope dat helps

Nokia 3310. Best phone ever. No, I am not joking, the reception you get on that phone is the best I have ever experienced.

I would say go for a decent mid-range phone.

I would say the Sony Ericsson K770. Shouldnt be too expensive and is a good phone. Or you can get an early N-Series, N-80 is a good one too. But these are upper-mid range phones I guess.
