I prefer the composition of the first photo. I find it a little more interesting. Both are very nice though.

First one is better composition for me, though they're both pretty good.

I like Understanding Psychology better. To me it shows a deeper connection between the couple and I love the book in the shot. It connects the whole scene.

i like the first one better...although the logs in the background do distract a little.   But the first one is more sad which I like.  It's like they're both sad for some reason. Maybe they have limited time together, or they are drifting apart.

The second one looks like he's sort of supporting all of her weight and saying "get off me".  the position just looks odd to me.  Plus the book in the foreground isn't very appealing.  Although they are closer, the positioning just needs to look more natural.

their both good, tough to choose one but im gonna have to go with the first one, it seems he is consouling her but the other one seems that they are together in one, in love.

Composition wise, the second one has more balance to me, plus indicates a greater story. The logs coming out of her breast bother me in both crops and I would like to see them cloned out. As always, it is a pleasure when you post these questions.

I like the first on more, it has a single message. In the first photo, you can really see some love and affection. There's nothing more than just love, and that's just fine, you don't need to add any more props to the photo. You see compassion in the first photo. However, in the second photo, the psychology books seems distracting, and un-necessary. You have them laying on one another in the second one, and  i don't see ' understanding psychology '. That just seems like a stray prop. I like the first one more, it has on message, and that's really good to have. You don't need more that than. So, i like the first one more.

Oh, and for the record i liked the composition of  the second shot, but you didn't need the book.
