Which photo should I use for photo contest?

Question

I can only submit 1 of these 9 photos to a Nature photo contest. It can focus on Plants, animals or just environment. Which one do you think is the best? ... and why might help my decision.

I really like # 5 it reminds me of like the lion king or something. Looks really neat.

hmm... i like 4, 8, and 1

the bird one is beautiful, but a little gruesome

Personally, I like #3 the most. The first 2 came out a little dark but would be find otherwise. #8 comes a close second- I really loved the textures and thorns on whatever plant it was.

Oh and btw.......... the "duck" wasn't a duck at all. It was a kingfisher. : )
