Which photograph camera is worth buying?

I am new at this and i am looking for a photograph camera

I am trying not to spend over 1,200 so if you could please help me i want it for outside,indoor,people,animal photography and i don't want a film one.

I am new to this and i am just now starting but i want to use this photography camera for as long as i can so dont want i basic one!

I heard a Fuji S9600 is good Anyone have one ?

the new canon xsi would be a great camera to start with.

The Fuji you're asking about is a sophisticated point and shoot, you cannot change lenses on it.

Canon XSi, Nikon D60 are very good cameras, and both give you many lens options.

For $1200 you could get the Canon XSi with a lens or two to suit your needs and maybe even an external flash unit.
