Which pickup should I get?

Question

I'm stuck between which pickups to choose, either an EMG 81,DiMarzio Evolution 2 or a Dactivator or something. I play Ozzy,Metallica,Iron Maiden, and I'm lead and I want to get that zakk wylde squeal pinch harmonics.And I have a BC Rich Nj series Virgin guitar which I'm gonna put the pickup in and also it has coil split,a 20DB,and mini toggles and I'm wondering if I could still put an EMG in there and it all would still work and would it be easy to put it in?

Yup...Seymour Duncan are very clean pickups and I install them all the time at the sjop.One thing, the fact you mentioned Ozzy, Zak etc.... I owuld definitely go for Dimarzio. The sound is louder, punchier and less clean which is more inline with heavy metal and Metallica.

Don't forget that, in those days, you had no pick up choice except Dimarzio which is why i suggest it.

I installed some on my 1963 Les Paul and never regretted it. plus, it is very good for a jazzy sound when you select the front pickup.

I agree with the guy who said to get the Duncan.  Be aware that Zakk uses a wah and sometimes a harmonizer to get that sound on his pinch harmonics.  Take care.
