Which pictures should I put in my portfolio?

Question

I am a mere 14 years old, yet I'm in love with photography. So I decided to put together a sort of portfolio containing my best shots. I figure, why not start young?

So my question is, which photographs do you think is best out of these?

Really like your work.  That is a lot of talent for 14!  Your technical results are excellent.  I especially like your portraits.  You've portrayed interesting emotions in your subjects.  They really grab your attention.

You've got a really good eye and sense of design.    The individual flowers(one per shot) have been done before.Your other photos are more creative.    The blossoming branches are great design and poignant with the comment of how quickly they pass.   Love the black and white flower with web.  The comments over the pictures limit and tell the viewer what to think.  I wouldn't use them.  Let the viewer decide what they see.  You'll sell more that way.  Love the sun through the trees with comment.  Love the building disappearing into the clouds,flowers with water droplets and again the portraits are great!!!

The captions are a bit, er, surreal. I found myself re-reading them in disbelief rather than looking at the photos. You are not without talent, but your photography has some way to go, understandably. I like the shot of the skyscraper. The others are a little bit ordinary. The skateboard shot is over-exposed and not well composed. It's the weakest pic. here. Try to make the pictures do the talking, not the captions.

Hi Argi

In any portfolio, keep more black and whites at the front and color photos towards the back of the portfolio.

This forces the interviewer to look at all and by keeping the colors at the end, he will be anxious to search for them. In any case, when you go on an interview, you  are there in real person and the person can decide there and then.
