Which place is more expensive to live in, Arlington VA or Potomac MD?

I really need help finding out which place is more expensive to live in Arlington VA or Potomac MD. Please tell me anyhting related to it's income.

I'm from Arlington, and while, yes, it is expensive, it's not more expensive than Potomac.  And, it has the distinct advantage of being closer to the city that Potomac.

First of all, you need to understand that there are two "Potomacs" and two "Arlingtons." For Potomac, there is the actual place called Potomac, MD, and then there are whole sections of what should really be called Rockville that have taken on the Potomac name.  Real estate agents call it Potomac, but it is a different place economically.  In Arlington, there is South and North Arlington.  South Arlington is overall less upscale than North Arlington.  So, I am assuming you are comparing North Arlington to the traditional areas of Potomac.

The main difference between North Arlington and Potomac is that Potomac houses tend to be bigger and have more land than houses in Arlington.  Arlington was developed earlier, and the land there, on average, is more "filled in" with buildings than Potomac.  

Since Potomac has bigger houses on bigger plots, average prices are higher (there are always exceptions).  But if you found a really large house in Arlington on a lot the size of lots in Potomac, then I bet the situation would be reversed, and the Arlington house would be higher priced.  But if such houses exist at all, they are few and far between.

Bottom line: a house in Potomac will usually be more expensive than a house in Arlington, but that's mainly because Arlington tends not to have as many large houses. I hope this helps.

i have an uncle who lives in potomac in a 2 million dolar house.

everything in potomac is extra expensive.

sry i dont know anything about arlington.
