ok. i want to become an actress. i am going to a summer camp for a week and then going to a festival after the camp. my mom said that if i do good at the festival and i try really hard at camp then she might get me an agent. i was wondering if i should get the agent know (im 13 now) or i should wait for a couple of years until im 18 and then get an agent. i know how to act and i got chosen for this camp. they didnt just take anyone. so which way is better? either way im going to become an actress.

thanks

  1. Interesting that acting star lists all the known scams and suspected scams as what you should do.  You don't just get an agent, you apply to see if they want you.  Your mom has to do it for you until you are 18.  If she thinks you are ready and is willing to help you get to auditions and work, then go for it now.

  2. I think that you should get an agent whenever you think you're ready. If you think you're ready now, get an agent, but if you don't think you're ready just yet, work on your talents for just long enough to be ready. It's YOUR life so it's YOUR choice on what to do with it.

    Hope I helped. :)

  3. Well it sounds good what your doing, after that you should look into getting professional acting classes (John Robert Powers, John Casablanca, Pro scout -- check them out i did John Casablanca and it was AMAZING they give you head shots, work on your resume show you how to go on a proper audition and commercial work)  After you take professional classes think about getting an agent... maybe get an agent when your 14, and take a year doing classes, plays, drama at school maybe even take some singing and dancing lessons. When you get an agent make sure they live near by you.. and know what you want to audition for.. start small with commercials and student films and get some on camera work before you audition for movies, tv shows and maybe even audition for Disney.. but most auditions for Disney are in LA. Good Luck :)
