  2. phytoplankton produce the greatest quantity of oxygen because there are so many of them.  not sure about which individual plant produces the most.

    Okay, here's someone who addresses that question: Dr. Maoshing Ni suggests: "Most effective are indoor palms, English ivy, ficuses, peace lilies, and chrysanthemums." But adds, "certainly most leafy indoor plants are fine."
