It depends on the time of day.  During the rush hour, they leave from the "Main Line" station, usually platforms 8 - 10.  During the day, there is an hourly service from Charing Cross and that goes from platform 5.  Your best bet is to go through platform 5 up onto the footbridge that links all the platforms.  You'll find screens up there showing the platform for the next departure to wherever you want to go.
