Michel Platini won an incredible three back-to-back between 1983 and 1985. It remains an unprecedented achievement by one of the best European players of all-time. Interestingly, though, Kevin Keegan could have won a hat-trick of consecutive Ballon d’Ors back in the 1970s – if only he hadn’t finished second in 1977.
