if you could choose one former AFL player play footy for one more time who would it be?

i would choose Darren Millane simply because i never got the chance to see him play. i have read a lot about Darren, what a true champion he was. I read this from a book and it really taught me something "Collingwood supporters struggled to come to terms with the loss of a player they had once considered to be industructble ." so for me seeing darren millane play would have been an honour!

  1. Robbie Flower, though not back at Melbourne I'd place him in a team that has a chance for finals success he deserved that much.

  2. Peter Hudson

I'm a Hawthorn supporter and never got to see him play

    1968  -  125 goals

    1969  -  120

    1970  -  146

    1971  -  150

Would have been awesome to see him play that well!

  3. As a Tigers fan I would love to see Jack Dyer play again but only if he was allowed to use a bit of biff.....and Polly Farmer too, a true legend of the game.

  4. I used to love watching Steven Silvagni play. Even with the current rules where you get a free if someone even looks at you the wrong way I think he could get away with murder and still not give away a free.

I used to love the expression "If he was a race horse you'd never back him".

  5. Haydn Bunton, Sr.

    The greatest of all-time.

  6. As much as I don't like Port Adelaide I would love to see Russell  Ebert play again.

  7. Wayne Carey

Regardless what he has done off field, the guy was a champion on the field and one of the best to play the game.

  8. Nathan Buckley

  9. shorty allen daniels  footscray  was coached a couple of years ago and played 2nd with the little big man

  10. Wayne Carey

  11. Despite what's been going on lately, I'd like to see wayne carey play again. But not just wayne carey. I'd like glen jackovic to play as well just to renew that rivalry. They had some good battles in the past.

  12. g'day steph, i would choose my boy hood hero, Royce Hart, now that fella was a champion.  followed by g.ablett snr, he was the best player i have ever seen by so far it is not funny.

with regards to Darren Millane, he was a good hard tough player, i wouldn't go as far as saying he was a true champion though, don't want to hurt your feelings but if people were honest, they would tell you he was a real tough bugger, that opposition got out of the way of, he was a more than handy player but he was more of a gutsy type than a skilled type.

if you happen to watch a DVD of him you will see what i mean, no disrespect to the bloke i admired his hardness, you be sure of that, i used to say to people, 'other players are bloody scared of him" and they were.

(same as when Brian Taylor began at tiger-land, when that big bugger was on a lead, players would get out of his way.)

every one, not just pie supporters knew how hard he was, and that mongrel got into his car when he was killed and stole his tapes and stuff while he was in there still. mongrel dog, should of strung him up.

  13. jack dyer

  14. I would say Tony Lockett, Tony Modra or Gary Ablett Snr

  15. Ted Whitten

  16. Peter Daicos he was the most entertaining  player ever

Darren Millane was the last of the real hard men

  17. jack sheedy or ted whitten or gary ablett snr

  18. Polly Farmer
