  1. Ichiro i would say..nothing is mechanically sound about his swing, at all, yet he ropes the ball and hits bombs as well. ive never understood how he can hit so well with his off balance swing

  2. Jeff Francoeur. I mean I love him and he is a great guy but this season he has an ugly swing and anything he hits solidly makes me wonder how he did it.

  3. vlad

  4. Vladimir Guerrero. The guy has literally hit balls for home runs off of his shoe laces as if he was playing golf.

  5. Definitely "Big Daddy Vladdy" Guerrero, like the other user said, I have seen him hit homers anywhere from his nose to his toes, the missing down the middle thing has only happened this year. He is having an "off year", and he is still hitting like .296 lol

  6. Vlad Guerrero....

I've seen him swing and miss a fast ball right down the middle...and then hit a pitch 3" off the ground and a foot in front of the plat out into the seats..

  7. Vlad Guerrero followed by Alfonso Soriano..

Guerrero's strike zone is so peculiar, but he can still hit for a .320 average.

  8. Juan Uribe

  9. Dustin Pedroia. That guy has a weird swing, but it's a great one!

  10. Mike Aviles and Gary Sheffield. Both have very unorthodox swings.

  11. Hamilton's swing is very puzzling to me. When he loads, he drops his hands down to his waist, which totally ignores the mechanics of hitting. Also, Frank Thomas hits lots of homers even though he basically swings with one hand.

The Japanese lefty swings are also weird. How do you run while hitting and still hit .300?

  12. fukudome

  13. Well, I've seen Vlad hit a ball on a bounce, which was astounding to me.  I've also seen him single when a pitcher was trying to intentionally walk him.  So, yeah.  I'm amazed at what he can hit.

But I wonder how Ichiro hits over .300 with that awful running swing.

  14. Craig Counsell when he hits a homer. Normally it's weird enough, but how he can drive a ball 400 ft away is a mystery.

  15. Craig Counsell. He has a horrid batting stance. It looks like his back is going to hurt him later in life.

  16. When Chase Utley takes his signature half-swing home run, I wonder how he could possibly hit that 400 ft.

  17. i'd say Alfonso Soriano because he is so off-balance it's scary and it completely defies proper mechanics, even though he still is a good hitter.

  18. Vlad Guerrero. I just love watching him hit, he'll swing at pitches nobody does in baseball and take them out of the yard or drive line drives into the gap. It's fun to watch pitchers try to figure out what to do with him.

  19. Yeah Pedroia has a huge uppercut swing.
