Which pokemon is best, kadabra or mr. mime ?

i need a psychic pokemon for the elite four in fire red but i cant get alakazam because i cant trade with anyone and there arent many pyschic pokemon, which one is better ?

 Depending on the version that you are playing (I will be refrencing Fire-Red) , Mr. Mime is better. This is not just opinion , both pokemon has a very good special attack and both learn rather good movesets , but Mr.Mime's defense and HP stat are higher; but Kadabra has better SP.Attack. Depending on personal prefrence at this point forward. Mr.Mime learns reflect , light screen , confusion , psybeam , substution (MAJOR advantage that Mr.Mime has , allows sweeps if used properly) and essentially the same as Kadabra. 

Physhic , Substitution , Calm Mind , Reflect. Essentially a stat boosting , semi-walling , team defense raiser pokemon. highly recommended , hope this helps :)
