Which pole should I buy ?

After a while out of course fishing I need to buy a good all round pole about 13m - budget £300-£400 - what make/supplier would you suggest. Would like to buy on the net. Thanks

  1. The answer is the dearest one you can afford, especially if you intend to fish for long periods with it fully extended. Poles get lighter the more you pay for them see.

    The one I've got was around £80 and is adequate (i.e. I've caught fish with it) but a bit heavy.

    You'll also need elastic, bushes, connectors, a bung, a threader and a set of pole rollers, so take that into account if your pole doesn't come with them.

    A can of pole lubricant is handy but not essential. Elasticating a pole is tricky if you haven't done it before.

  2. no one can tell you what rod (not pole) to buy no one what kind of fishing are you doing? where? in what water? from shore or boat or pier or rock pile????? freshwater or saltwater????? now if the suggestions you got didn't care about every variable that will make your fishing experience the best it can be be cause they think in generics instead of being dialed in for exacting needs and specifications then buy an ugly stick and then email me lets discuss really what you need and then want and go from there
