  1. The Dems are clearly more focused on the 'global warming issue'.  Without going completely nuts on this topic, I will just say that it is another way that they would like to control you with more government.  Read about the latest legislation the Dems are pushing here:

As for the front running candidates right now, neither of them can be called conservative, so they are actually both exploiting it.

  2. 'Identifying with' and actually 'doing more about when elected' are two totally different things. Political parties around election time will try to show that they are more concerned about leading issues than the others. Don't necessarily believe it.

  3. The main reason I became a Dem is that they are very concerned with the environment. The Grand Oil Party is owned by Big Oil and Big Tobacco which both want to destroy the American middle class and could give a s---- about the environment or Earths' wildlife species.  The Republicans have become a truly DISGUSTING political party. And to think I used to be one!  I finally woke up.

For some reason I doubt you were ever a republican. If you were, you would know that your entire post was fallacious. I think it is about time you change your username--it does not fit you.

    -----------

    Edit:

If you were raised a republican, then you must know that only a very small portion of the party is "owned by Big Oil and Big Tobacco which both want to destroy the American middle class and could give a s---- about the environment or Earths' wildlife species." The majority of republicans could not identify with what you say here, and it is sad that you would make such generalizations.

  5. Unfortunately, many politicians on both sides see AGW as an easy way to increase their power. More money to politicians = more power for politicians.

  6. Global warming and politics is more than just the United States.  It's is worldwide (well...close to it) and it seems the leftist socialist do-gooder parties in many countries rant about it while their flocks of sheep waddle behind them.

The 'Right' produces leaders, the 'Left' only followers.

  7. Currently I think Democratic Party is more in tune with global warming.  Both parties can use scare tactics about the other's stance on global warming/mitigation  to get certain groups of voters to identify with them.  It's too bad, it shouldn't be a party issue. Personally, I've always identified with the Libertarian party but they're doing their best to ignore the issue, it's not in their platform at all.

  8. I think the Democrats grabbed this one yesterday.  McCain stepped back into the 20th century to recommend that federal restrictions on offshore oil drilling be lifted  -- which is akin to putting a band-aid on a amputated limb -- and Gore endorsed Obama at a rally in Michigan.  Global climate change was mentioned a number of times in the speeches.

How all of this will be exploited remains to be seen.
