    EDIT: Sorry he was only a talent scout at Arsenal, he played for England at cricket though :-). Nice guy. He looked after my training when I played for the youth team.

    Primarily a right handed batsman who played for MCC and Middlesex. He played in 515 games of first class cricket and 78 tests overall with a batting average around 50. He bowled as a slow left arm chinaman and took 622 first class wickest but just 25 test wickets.

    He went on to play as a left winger for Arsenal between 1936-1950 making 54 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

He also played domestic football for Arsenal between 1951 and 1955, and then for a brief period for Bristol City. He played one match for the England national football team in 1951, against Austria at Wembley. He was the last survivor of the 12 people to have played at the highest international level for both England's football and cricket teams.
