Which processor is better for gaming? Amd athlon 5600+ or Intel core 2 duo?

Hi, I am going to assemble my pc.. so please, guide me..

Which of the above processor is better for gaming.

I am also going to add nvidia 512 mb graphic card, so which one will work better with it?

intel, i switched from amd to intel and the intel seems more heavy duty built.

In 65 chipset Amd was siply cheaper and better then intel

Then it come 45nm chips where intel goes a bit ahead of amd but still costly then amd

If i was you ill wait till dec (if you can) mean time AMD will launch there 45nm processors in oct or nov then read its review on net then deside to go with intel or go with AMD

good question of which intel. apples to apples intel is faster. single core AMD is faster, but intel is quite a bit faster than AMD in dual core. BUT, if the game is not written for dual core neither one will be as fast as a good single core--it REALLY depends on the game.

this is a good time to go to dual core-quad cores have just come out, so dual cores are dropping in price.
