  1. Hi,

What type of processor is the second one?  Are they both duel core celeron chips?  If they are the same type of chip, then the 1.83 GHZ one is faster.  If not then it depends on what kind of chip and how many cores the second one has.

  2. It's more a case of which is better.  The celeron may sound faster because of its 'numbers' but as soon as you start doing things on your computer, and more than one thing at a time, the dual core will handle it much better and quicker,  Seriously, don't get the celeron..........it works, but not nearly as good as the dual core and there really isn't that much of a price difference.

  3. ...INTEL ©'06 E1200

    Celeron® DUAL-CORE

    SLxxx [COO]

    1.60GHZ/512/800/06  ..http://www.intel.com/products/processor/...

  4. Hai,

          the processors are

            pentium 4     -        1mb cache memory

Dual core     -         2mb cache memory

            Core2duo      -        4mb cache memory

Quad core     -        8 mb cache memory

The cache memory is the the memory  to transfer the data from processor to ram.Based on the cache memory the applications will run on the system and if cache memory is low system will hang frequently wen u r using more no. of applications.

  5. dual core because it has 2 procesors

  6. Just because it has a faster GHZ, does not mean it is a faster CPU.  There are a lot of factors that determine the true speed of a processor.

In this case, the Dual core would be faster and a much better choice.  Celerons are very cheap processors, designed to be affordable but lacks performance.

  7. but obviously the 'Dual core 1.6Ghz', & by a LONG margin that

the intel celeron's are simply purebreed c**p & rest on the bottom alongside the sempron's from amd

(& i am confirming you this, not even knowing what processor you are meaning ~ Dual core 1.6Ghz)

link to system, and what you plan the laptop for ... and we can tell you better

  8. I would have to agree with the celeron comment, celerons are completely outdated but atht the same timefor the specs that you have put up the faster one would be the celron. That doesn't necesarily mean he quality of the speed would be the same, which would make the Dual core better because it doesn't have as much base speed, but its processing speed to processes data will be better that the single core piece of c**p up there.

  9. you definetly want dual core no matter what  a 1.4gz dualcore can top off the celeron 1.83gz anyday.  celerons are pure s**t unless you have a $499 computer budget

  10. Ghz are the clock speed of a computer processor. Therefore the intel celeron 1.83Ghz would be faster.
