  1. Truthfully thats all advertising. Puttters are basically all the same but you want a well balanced one that will help you keep your putter straight. There are balls that spin very well. the pros use them but they are outragiously expensive like 25$ for 3 balls

  2. Yes! putters are great.

  3. it might be in your head.  try a drill that Phil Mickelson uses:  the Clock Drill.

Set up balls around the cup at your "trouble distance" and go through your routine each time you step up to a ball.  Let's say you set up 8 balls... you'd have to be 8 out of 8, or else start all over.

It's a good way to teach yourself focus, cause you've gotta get your routine down every time, and that should put you in "the zone".  The pressure of having to make 8 (or whatever) in a row will help you when you're staring down a trouble putt for birdie, cause you'll have been there so many times.

  4. i got a new putter this year and it is the best putter i've ever had it is a siena 4 rossa putter

the titleist pro v1x and nike one platinum have the best spin for a ball i've ever played with

  5. If you make the long ones and miss the short ones its not the putter.  Every time I would ask for a new club my dad would tell me Its not the arrow, its the i***n.  I had the same problem when I played competitively.  The best drill I've ever used is the easiest.  Every day before you leave the putting green, set up 4 tees around the hole at 3 feet.  Take your time and work your way around the circle until you make 30 in a row.  With the short putts repetition is the best thing.  You might also be lifting your head up on the short ones if you're missing to the right.

  6. This really depends on your putting stroke and what you are comfortable with.  My stroke is an arc which squares at the point of contact.  This means a heel-toe weighted putter is the best.

However, if you go straight back and through the ball with no arc you are best using a mallet or a blade-style putter that is face balanced.  You can tell the balance by holding the putter and balancing it by the shaft in your hand.  If it is face balanced, it will point upwards.

In reality, it is all about practice and alignment.  Find a putter that is comfortable for you and stick with it.  I have seen players with $15 putters sink shots that a person with the newest Scotty Cameron can't do consistently.  Try some easy drills, such as finding your dominant eye and keeping your head still for 5 seconds after your putting stroke.  This will help.
