  1. The one you practice with.

First make a circle of balls 3 feet from the hole. Keep that drill till you knock in 100%

Then go to 5 feet circle and keep going till you get 80%.

Now you can go to the edge of the green and aim to get the ball within 3 feet of the cup.

With practice, you will only add 2 strokes to a hole whenever you pick up your putter.

  2. The putter which gives you the best feel and confidence when it is in your hands is the club of choice. The one you are comfortable using on any green, whether slow, medium speed or fast is the one. Think of developing a good , consistent putting stroke. Once you have this you can learn to read greens. If you miss with that good stroke, don't go changing. Continue using it and putts will begin to fall.

  3. I've found that using a putter you can control speed with does the trick for me. This means you must practice with it to get how the ball comes off the putter.  The rest is all knowing how to read the green and how fast they're playing.  I use a Ping Anser 2, but the only thing that'll shave strokes is practice.

  4. Everything is based on your game, there is no magic putter you know....

  5. Putting requires more feel and less true golfing technique than any other golf stroke.  The main thing is to find a putter that is the proper length for the way you putt and make sure you get a putter that has the perimeter weighting, most do now.  I personally favor the Odessey line of putters.  Go to your local shop and try out some.

  6. You can purchase a $300.00 Cameron Putter and 3-Putt from 21' or you can buy a $10.00 putter and do the same.

What drives my boat is how it feels at impact with the ball...there is a sense of feedback that I am seeking.  It is the ability for the putter to be able to adjust to my sense of distance.  The ball that I'm using is key to the combination.  I use to love Balatas, how it holds the line, not bounce to every detail of the green and how well it read my thoughts...Now, since the covers of the ball is more harder, my putter has to adjust to the materials used.

If the putter looks distracting, or not pleasing to my eye...then I will not use it.

  7. Get a customized putter and you will be good to go

  8. The one that gives you the best feel for distance.  Putting is 90% about hitting the putt the right speed, and about 10% reading the green.  After all "all putts are straight if you hit them hard enough" (just kidding).  Go to a shop that has a practice putting green and hit all different kinds and lengths until you find one that consistently gets you near the hole for a tap in two putt.

  9. I would go for a lighter putter. go to your golf shop and try out some putters. whichever one feels the best, buy it. but a certain putter isnt going to help you improve. its all in you, how good you read the green, and how good your stroke is. hope that helped
