Which is a better quote for a thesis paper?

1) You may go to h**l, I will go to Texas

2) Colonel Neill and myself have come to the solemn resolution that we will rather die in these ditches than give it up to the enemy

3) I feel confident that the determined valor and desperate courage heretofore evinced by my men will not fail them in the last struggle; and although they may be sacrificed to the vengence of a Gothic enemy, the victory will cost so dear that it will be worse for him than defeat. God and Texas! Victory or Death!

which on is best to start off the paper, to grab the readers attention?

thanks

  1. Clearly #3 takes the cake..but I would eliminate "God and Texas"......it distracts from the eloquence of all that comes before...IMO.....bring Texas in later, after you've grabbed the reader initially...
