“The issue of beauty, weight, shape, size remains highly criticized in our culture and it's virtually impossible to find positive reinforcements about healthy women in our culture.” - Laurie Cohen.

or

"A girl should not expect special privileges because of her s*x but neither should she adjust to prejudice and discrimination." -Betty Friedan

  1. I like the second one better or use:

Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed.  If I fail, no one will say, "She doesn't have what it takes."  They will say, "Women don't have what it takes."  ~Clare Boothe Luce

  2. "Equality and rights shall not be denied or abridged on account of s*x."

That's the Equal Rights Amendment.  It didn't pass.
