  1. Probably the two best talking birds-or more correctly mimics -are the African Grey and the Indian Hill Minah. Both are absolutely incredible mimics but as to which is the best English speaking bird there is no such thing. A bird will only mimic what it hears or is taught-it cant actually speak which requires a knowledge of language-it can copy speach. We had an African Grey-incidently they live a very long time-up to 70 years-who we taught to say its name and address on the theory that if it ever flew away it could say where it lived. I say "its" because we did not know what s*x it was.Having said all that parrots I am convinced are very intelligent and tremendously amusing.

  2. Most likley the african grey parrot.

  3. African Grey Parrots, by a mile. Quite a bit of research has been done on the human language abilities of this species as well as their ability to "think" in ways that humans consider meaningful.

  4. I believe that it is the crow or raven, although not enough research has been done to prove it. The intelligence of these birds however far surpasses that of stupid parrots.
