Toys are being recall could be due to unreasonable risks of serious injury or death it may cause. The recall is to protect consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children.

Lead in the paint of the toys.  In general lead does not do anything to someone, because MOST people don't eat lead.  But the problem about children is there very oral based and smaller kids put a lot of things in there mouth.  So if the swallow paint chips from the toy, and yes even really small paint chips can give a child enough lead to be detrimental. Anything greater than 25micrograms of lead in the blood is cause for treatment in children.
