first of all are you 21 so you can bar tend? that's your best bet for tips!!! but as far as restaurant per hr. rates I would go with a family owned nice place. they appreciate there employees and tend to pay a little more. and they have established a good clientele

Most restaurants only ever pay minimum wage for your hourly paycheck. Your main income is your tips. A cocktail waitress can make a lot of money in tips. After that, a breakfast shift waitress (5 or 6 AM to about 11 AM or 12 noon) at a family style restaurant will make the most tips because of the quicker turnover in customers. Dinner shift (3 PM to about 10 PM) makes the least amount in tips. The difference between breakfast and dinner shifts is extreme - breakfast shift easily earning over $100 a shift in tips with dinner shift lucky if they even make $40.
