  1. There are many unscrupulous places and people that would sell food that was not truly vegetarian.  And to tell you the truth, I believe that 98% of the vegetarian population would not know that a soup they ate had chicken stock in it.

  2. McDonald's in the U.S. does use beef extract in their fries, hence they are not vegetarian.

I've been to restaurants, such as Chevy's and On the Border, who told me their rice was vegetarian, but I later found out it was cooked with chicken stock.  A lot of people don't know things like chicken/beef stock, gelatin, rennet, etc. aren't vegetarian.  Some servers also don't know what's in the food and will assume if it doesn't contain chunks of meat, it's vegetarian.  Before I eat out, I call the restaurant or check their website for information on ingredients.  You can also tell the servers you're highly allergic to meat, eggs, dairy, etc. since they tend to take a possible lawsuit more seriously than their customer's ethical beliefs.

  3. In my country there is lot , i can't explain u.

There is many open stores situated at the border of main roads , u can understand how dirty  it is(Pollution),they never use fresh vegetables and wash them with polluted water.

  4. Well, I know some places DO cook vegetarian food on the same pan as meat. Also, in India, McDonalds was accused of cooking their fries with beef fat. However, my Indian friend's say it was a scam from local competitors.
