Which restaurants would you recommend in London?

I'm going to visit mid-year and I'm considering the Ivy. I think I'd like to avoid Gordon Ramsay as his average price for a dinner is 100 pounds.

Is Pasha good?

Please give me some recommendations.

  1. Wagmamas; Yo Sushi

  3. Hey

Depends on what you want to pay, what kind of food you like etc.

That said - my hearty 100% recommendation would be La Trompette in Chiswick - it's 35 quid fixed-price dinner, the food is better than Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, the service is flawless and the wine list is very reasonable.

The Ivy is really nice too - but in terms of food it's actually quite simple, the signature dish at the Ivy is Cottage Pie and they also do bangers and mash - it's just the celebrity thing that makes it so popular.

Check out www.london-eating.co.uk - excellent reviews on that site.

    Happy eating!

  4. MCDonalds & KFC

  5. None all over-rated and overpriced.

  6. there are a lot of nice restaurants who serve tasteful food with affordable prices in london...

if you want a nice pizza try the Harrods foodhall and u will ejoy a very nice oven baked pizza.....

if u want a nice overall italian restaurant, try Strada, they have branches all over uk.

london is also known for the great Lebanese Marroush restaurants, they have nice typical Lebanese menu ..

the ivy is quite nice since the celebrities are all over the place, and the food is nice coz my  friend is the chef there..

if u want a nice meal with over rated delicious dessert, u can go to Patisserie Concerto in knightsbridge near Harrods..

Anyway i wish you enjoy a nice time in london. and for a better guidance visit www.toptable.co.uk

    enjoy

  7. Go KFC!!! London has the best KFC in the world - take advantage of it.

  8. London has the best Indian restaurents! There are many of them and most are reasonably priced. Also, look for chinese and other ethnic places. Avoid traditional English food at all costs !

  9. Hi, I went to the Ivy just before Xmas and thought it was very good, and I managed to book only a few days before!! This was for a Thursday night though, they say need to book 6 months in advance but I rang up and they had a couple of tables free.

For 2 of us who had starter, main and a bottle of wine came to £75, which I didn't think was bad at all, was expecting it to be a lot more expensive

  10. Wagamamas, The Ivy, Nobu, and er, Nandos.

  11. i recommend that you go to "Banners" in North London Crouch End. great food makes it famous in the trendy media type area. also great atmosphere, dark and cosy, great music, if thats what u like. it was a favourite for the likes of Bob Dylan who apparently scoffed there on a regular basis.

  12. Well, I've been experiencing some good ones with a friend... cos as French people we always tend to go for the good food and wine! ;oP

Here is the list (mainly French though... but food is beautiful!)

Criterion on Piccadilly (I go there at least once every 1-2 month!)

Le Pont de la Tour, V nice for seafood and that great view on Tower Bridge

Trinity, nice new stylish "Gatro Pub"/Restaurant where the food is V innovative and nice

Bleeding Heart, Typical French restaurant; includes 4 restaurants but highly recommend the Bistro which is the best value for money

And if you like Moroccan food; here is the place to go:

http://www.bogayo.com/ on Old Street (in the "trendy" Shoreditch area)

Just around the corner from my office and it's like my gran-ma cooking !!! That says it all!
