I'm deciding between 5 Steps to a 5, Cliffnotes, and Princeton Review. I want to hear about your experiences using these books and if these books prepared you for the AP test.

  1. I got a 5 and I used the princeton review. I really like their questions at the end of each section. Don't use it for everything though, as it has to be supplemented by your chemistry textbook. It only has two practice exams, so you might need to get another review book that has more practice exams. The test wasn't bad when I took it, I do remeber pretty much neglecting my actual chemistry class, because we were on Organic chemistry, and there's no organic chemistry on the exam. Btw, if you want to be a chemistry/biology major in college, take the AP exam, but don't use it. I absolutlely forgot my chemistry even after receiving credit for it. Good Luck

  2. I would  buy Princeton Review and Barron's.

I personally bought both, because I felt PR. oversimplified things and Barron's complicated things.

    I studied both books and  I managed to get a 5. :]

  3. hi, well I used princeton review. the only thing is I bought the 2007 review book because it was cheaper, but the ap chem test format had changed since they had written the book. it was major changes too, like not giving you a choice about which free response to answer or which reactions to predict. so while I was studying I had to remember that. I think if you buy the newest version you should be fine because the book was pretty helpful, with good overviews of the topics and practice problems/tests. oh and I got a 5 on the ap test.
