Which ring should I get?

Question

My boyfriend is going to propose but he asked for my input on the ring. Just thought I'd get some opinions.

I like the first one more because it has two bands which makes it seem a little more sturdy and more attractive since there will be more diamonds one it.

The Princess cut. I think it is AMAZING. I love the cut. It looks so glamorous and the princess cut is what all the stars are wearing.

honestly the first one is the prettier and more 'costy' ring but simple is always better. an elaborate ring wouldnt always look good on your fingers when you're wearing baggy sweats. simple is always better!

SECOND one. It's actually a lot like mine, except mine has a round center stone, and I love it! Someone mentioned the diamonds all around the band are uncomfortable, but I don't take mine off and I hardly notice it's there. Also, the second one would be easier to get a matching wedding band. If he goes to a good jeweler - usually someone local - they can custom make anything you want, and custom make the wedding band to match up perfectly. That was something important to me.

I don't like the double band on the first one. And no offense, but I think it looks tacky.

The second one is classy and pretty. I love it!

I would get the single band..and have the diamond set in platinum.

Now prongs like that will tend to rip hose, etc. and can get loose.

a bezel setting is better. not sure how secure an invisible set is.

A single band is cool because you can get ring guards (later. like an anniversary band..but it fits both sides and cradles it...and create different looks. Also, if you change ring sizes, a ring guard can work to surround it. Also can help prevent it from turning on you.

Do not get diamonds all around the band, they are uncomfortable...a pair of baguettes is good. My diamond has this setting (platinum, with two baguettes)....but it is a round diamond six prong..but it is 1.37 cts..

You might learn to take off your ring and place it in your jewelry box. Cleaning, swimming pools, hot tubs, are hard on a ring.

first: really pretty with all the jewels on the band! yet classic with the circular diamond

second: pretty jewels on the band, with kind of a funky retro square diamond.

Don't limit yourself to what you see in a picture, go try rings on. When it is the right one you won't want to take it off!

However I prefer the second one. Just so you know a good quality diamond that size would cost you close to $1mil for the first one (5ct) and in the hundreds of thousands for the second (2.5ct).

One like the second one. The split shank on the first one isn't pretty, and I think wouldn't be comfortable either.

Okay, everyone is telling you which one they think is prettier. That's fine, and I happen to agree with the many who think the second is the prettier ring.

But there's this, which no one has brought up yet: If you are going to have an engagement ring that is based on a celebrity design, why not go with the ring that was used by the happier couple? That happens to be ring number two, also.

I would go with the second one because the first one looks a little bulky and overdone and you have to remeber your going to be wearing this for a very long time. You dont want a ring thats going to annoy you because then you'll want to take it off and the partner wouldnt be very happy if you were taking your ring off all the time.

personally, i love the first one! i like double band, the seccond one is ok, but its kinda plain, with the double band, it doesn't seem too flashy, but with the one band, big diamond it seems too much. ur opoinon, but the first ones beautiful!

The 1st one, because it's different and you will not see every woman with it on their finger!

Also, you could buy a matching band to go with it, and it will seem like three bands :)

Both are lovely but it depends which would look best on your hand.  Also consider what you'd do for a wedding band as sometimes those can be a problem to find.

First one. It's pretty and simple. Not too extravagant. I think the cut is prettier than the second one too.
