Which road bike do you guys think will be good to start with?

If you are just getting into biking don’t' spend a lot of money on your first bike. The big makes Trek, Giant, and a few others make good entry level bikes. Check KHS for very good starter/first bike for the money spent.

The bicycle business is so competitive that any two bikes at the same price are very likely to be equivalent values. Don't get hung up on brand names. The real question is how much you want to spend. Figure that a good, entry level road bike will cost at least US $800 for one that is worth keeping for a few years. Go to your local shops and see what they have in your price range. Test ride the bikes. Go other places and test ride what they have to offer. Buy the one that fits and feels the best regardless of the name on it. Buy the bike, not the brand.
