  1. Moyra summed it up well ....

I think it is actually very insulting (TO DIANA) to make out that she was anything more than Human.

A human who made mistakes and had flaws JUST LIKE THE REST OF US... she WAS NOT perfect and those that idolize her after her death are really insulting Diana the Normal person ... which was what she wanted to be,

  2. If you are implying Dianna, Princess of Wales was a saint, you have a strange way of looking at things

  3. Diana was hardly a saint.

Good person, with a good heart, maybe, but no saint.

  4. well lemme see... NONE!!! princess diana was no saint. girl pleez!

  5. The ONE that escorted her up to the heavens. Why? Only he could do it. It really wasn't that simple at the speed the car was driven...

  6. Saint Elizabeth Seton

  7. jlzkcarl is right on the mark!  Although Princess Diana's affairs certainly can't be categorized as saintly behavior, her charitable work loosely parallels St. Elizabeth Seton's (1774-1846):

---Elizabeth Ann Bayley, a native of New York City who was born an Episcopalian, married a wealthy businessman, William Magee Seton, when she was age 19.  She bore him five children.

---Seton discovered Roman Catholicism as a mature adult when her husband became ill in Italy.  Upon returning to the United States, Seton, now a widow, became a Roman Catholic much against her family's wishes.  Princess Diana's visit with Mother Teresa has been much commented on in the press. This visit may have inspired Princess Diana to further acts of charity, but she had not converted to Catholicism at the time of her death.  Her mother, however, had become a Roman Catholic late in life.

---Both women have been described as charming and cultured.  Elizabeth Seton's charisma helped her found the first American order of nuns, the Sisters of Charity.

---Both women had relatively early deaths.  Princess Diana was 36 at the time of her death; Seton was 46.

  8. Some of the Saints had been adulterers but none of them died that way....You have a very warped sense of morality if you equate Di with Sainthood.
