Question:

Which satellite radio XM or Sirius? ?

I'm thinking about getting a portable satellite radio. Anybody know which one has better nascar stuff? The only races I would need to listen to are the sprint cup ones but others would be nice along with other shows. And from the websites it looks like Sirius has more nascar stuff than XM? Does XM even have a nascar channel? Music I want good country channels (current stuff and older stuff), rock, and classic rock. Also as I said I want a portable unit but also one that can be hooked up in a car and plugged in to external speakers (preferably thru the headphone jack so I don't have to buy other speakers).

  1. Sirius is the official NASCAR satellite radio, but you do know that they recently merged into Sirius/XM.

I'm a Sirius fan, personally.  They have really good classic rock channels like Classic Vinyl and Classic Rewind, and several different country stations as well.

They also have Bubba and Howard Stern!

  2. It doesn't really matter now considering they are merging. I have XM and love those country stations. It has its own unit with speakers and another that i can hook up to my stereo in other rooms but i don't have it in my car so i can't help with that.

  3. Because they're merging I think the point may be moot.  I have XM in my car but Sirius on my satellite at home so I hear both.  Sirius seems to have better music channels and a bigger variety but XM has a couple of channels that I LOVE!  XM also has better portable units as well.

  4. We have XM and I love it.
