  1. Frenchman winning the French Open.  Clay is the hardest court to play on and you'd have to be playing on clay your whole life to win on clay.  I think they even have batchy ball on clay courts in France.

  2. No contest, A Frenchmen at Roland Garros.

  3. A Frenchman winning the French Open.

  4. that's a toughy.

i mean, there is andy murray lurking round and in the coming years who knows what kind of player he will be. and gasquet, the youngest and the top player from france is such an underachiever at this juncture so i dunno. i might give a slight edge to a brit winning either or than a frenchman, looking at the way tennis players are progressing and evolving at the moment.

btw, andy is scottish but scotland is part of great britain therefore they do play under the british flag.

  5. frenchman winning the FO..

  6. Is there any Englishman playing tennis?

I know there's Andy Murray, but he's Scottish.

@sj : the question is about an Englishman, that's all

  7. A Frenchman win the French open or even the Wimbledon.

France tennis is  good. people like Cornet, Bartoli, Clement, Mathieu have a stronger chance than anyone of the british players .

  8. neither will happen in the near future. spanish players generally dominate clay, so nadal will win or place high in the french open for at least a decade to come. federer is the much older of the two top players so we're likely to see a new wimbledon winner in the near future within the next 5 years or so, whether he's an englishman or not i would doubt it...but it has the better chance of happening than a frenchman winning the french open.
