I sure hope your kid has better English skills than you do, other wise they're screwed regardless of whatever school they attend.

anyways, can't help you there. send him wherever is closest. whichever has the nicest building. nicest records.

Visit greatschools.net.  Type the school names and/or districts in the search box and the site will give you academic ratings, teacher, student, test scores, etc. as well as feedback from parents and students.  It's a good site.

Also visit each school's websites.  From the sites themselves, you'll be able to tell which one is more serious, technologically advanced, and provides the information you as a parent would want to have easy access to, i.e., teacher phone numbers and extensions, course offerings, student handbooks, etc.  Each school is also required by law to post the annual school report card, and that will give you a good representation of the schools' progress and efforts.  Check out the neighborhoods as well.

edgemont is known to be one of the best public high schools in the country, my best friend graduated this year and is going to upenn
