Which schools do professional people send their children in new Zealand?

I have read that schools in New Zealand are clasiffied by decils. I would like to know which schools people like doctors, engineers, pharmacists, etc send their childrens?

  1. well since they have well paying jobs they would be in a nice area, and the schools around them would be of a high decile rating.

    so the kids would probably end up going to a high decile school.

    decile ratings go from 1-10. 10 being the highest.

    A low decile rating does not mean that you will get a poor education.


  2. It would depend on where you live. In small towns there would not be much choice but you could choose to send children to private schools or church schools out of the area. In cities, where there is a wide choice, many go to state schools too. If you live in an affluent area your local state schools will have a better decile.

  3. Stay away from the low decil schools, they have so many behavior issues that there is no way of actually getting a good education.  Home school would be even better, then you can teach relavent topics to your child instead of wasting heaps of time and effort on the Maori studies....  A dead language for an extinct people, as there are no full blooded Maoris left alive.  Not to mention a culture based on violence and canibalism.
