  1. I find Google works fine for vertebrate paleontology.  The key is an appropriate selection of keywords.  Mind you, that's probably more straightforward if you happen to be looking for info on Mesozoic mammals and their relatives, and that's generally what I'm interested in.  If you want to narrow things down to serious scientific articles, then there's also Google Scholar.
