  1. Here is a great resource I found yesterday looking up exactly what you are asking:

    http://www.seatguru.com/

It helped me at web check in to get the best seat available.

  2. i prefer an aisle seat in the front. if i have to, in the back. i dont like the middle on the wing cause the wing does some crazy stuff when you fly adn i dont like to fly.. and also its lounder by the engine

  3. Continental does not have any 747's in its fleet and Boeing never built a model called the 747-200ER. They do fly the 767-200ER and the 777-200ER. I'm guessing that you meant one of those.

Generally, the most comfortable seats are aisle seats. Emergency exit rows have the most legroom, although your seat may not recline. Of course, you have to volunteer to operate the exit if it is necessary.

Try to avoid seats near the lavatories (passenger traffic and smell) and the galley (activity from flight attendants with beverage carts). Also, the row in front of an emergency exit will generally not recline but lack the extra legroom of the emergency row.
