Both have similar attributes, different classes, different type of tracks, but which is bigger.

I know American Le Mans are cars built for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Rolex cars are built for the 24 Hours of Daytona, but which is bigger, and what would you rather watch?

  1. car Series

  2. Generally, ALMS... though "Bigger" is difficult to say as what does that mean?  Both series have had ups and downs in terms of popularity in recent years, and both seem to have been on the rise in the last couple years.

The Rolex series enjoys some strong commercial support due to it's many ties with major US race organizations.

ALMS has more European ties, though as it has a longer history, it is still the more established of the two, and enjoys more favorable scheduling at most tracks as a result.

ALMS certainly has more money involved with operating costs of running cars being dramatically higher than Rolex (A Rolex Prototype's annual budget would only be slightly more than a ALMS GT car, and an ALMS Prototype being many many times more for even just a customer car).

Due to the lower costs from using spec chasis for prototypes, and production class GT cars, the Rolex series has enjoyed larger fields in most contests (thus being "bigger" in that measure).
