  1. (3)How much you like your math class

It is qualitative because you can't measure it with numbers.  The other answers are quantitative because you can measure (1), (2), and (3) with numbers.

  2. I think this is actually a trick question.  Qualitative data is that which cannot be analyzed statistically, because it cannot be put into numerical form.  The answer should be (4). Let me explain:

    (1) Grades in math class can be put into numerical form, as in a GPA, so that you could find an average, compare them, etc.

    (2) The amount of time spent studying almost HAS to be expressed as a number.  Again, you could have an average amount of time spent studying, and could do all kinds of statistical analysis on this data.

    (3) At first glance, this LOOKS like the right answer, since it deals with feelings.  However, think about how such things are usually measured.  If you sent out a questionnaire to everyone in the math class, asking how much they liked the class, you would probably give them a scale - let's say from 1 to 5, with one being "I dislike math class," two being "I somewhat dislike math class", three being "I neither like nor dislike math class," four being "I somewhat like math class," and five being "I like math class".  Then you have feelings expressed as numbers, and you could average them, with a standard deviation, compare how much the girls like it vs. the boys, etc.  So the data would be quantitative, not qualitative.

    (4)  These are dates, not numbers (even though we use numbers in the dates, but they are not continuous numbers).  So if we said that the test dates were Sept. 12, Oct. 18, Nov. 29, Dec. 7, Jan. 22, Feb. 16, Mar. 7, Apr. 1, and May 11, what would it tell you?  Could you have an "average" test date?  Even if you found dates between the beginning and the end, what would that tell you?  There would likely be no tests on that date, so what would be the point?  This is qualitative data.

  3. number 3

qualitative data- Data which measure intangible or objective data, such as peoples' attitudes and opinions

Non-numerical records of independent and dependent variables kept during experiments

therfore the answer is number 3 as it focuses on p[eople opinions rather that numbers

  4. Number 1

  5. 3 because it is an opinion
