Question:

Which set of subs+amp?

So here's the deal: I have about a $300 budget for subs and an amp. I was thinking either a pair of Rockford Fosgate P2D412 subs and a Rockford Fosgate P400-2 amp....or....a pair of Rockford Fosgate P3D412 subs and a Crunch P1000.1 amp. Do you think it's worth it to step up to the next level sub for a low budget amp? Or will the difference not be noticeable enough between the subs that I should go with the quality amp.

Thanks.

  1. Everyone wants a cheap/cost effective system. The only thing with that is there are a lot of good brands out there and a lot of c**p fall apart a few days later brands. If you are getting Rockford Fosgate subs then i would definitely get a good brand amp. The Fosgate P3D412 Sub would be a nice set up with the Crunch amp. Crunch is a good brand and so far all the reviews i have read on them they are respectable and work well. I would spend the money (if possible) and get the P3D412 sub with the Crunch amp.

PPI amps are pretty nice. The local audio shop for me is a dealer of PPI and all of his installed stuff rocks. He actually tried to sell me one (not uncommon) and he was so confident that his amp would last that he told me he would replace it if it ever broke.

    hope this helps.

  2. if i were you i would find out how much power the cars electrical system can supply and purchase an amp within that power range the use the power range of that amp to decide the which subs to get

  3. if i were u i would extend your budget a lil bit and get a 2000 watt amp or maybe a 1300 watt acoustic amp and then either get 2 12 inch mtx 5500's with box or maybe one 15 inch mtx 7500   with box   mtx hits really hard and ive had my 15 inch 7500 for a long time and it still bumps,   and i also have had my 3 10 inch mtx 6000's for 5 years and they still bump so mtx last long and they bump good and they are very much affordable    just make sure u have a good wiring system good amp and a good battery and a good alternator to power it   for some added power consider a capacitor   but trust me it is most definitely not a must buy

  4. Hey kid what I think U should do  is save your money and get something good $300 aint gonna do much

  5. I would spend more money on the subs and get a decent amp.  JL Audio makes some really nice subs.  I had a 12" JL sub in a sealed box running off a piece of c**p Crossfire 200watt amp and it bumped real good.  I've seen some PPI amps (used) selling for real cheap, but i'm in L.A. so there's a lot of them around.

  6. s***w the budget get some jackhammers!
