I am looking to spend around 6-10k on a used focus or Celica. I need something cheap reliable and has good gas mileage. I am a college student moving to California.

  1. Actually I saw as part of a weekend special that you can get a Ford Focus (incentives and rebates and the sale of the vehicle depending on which dealership you go to) for 10K... better to buy it new in my opinion. Ford has come a long way with their cars... the MPG is 34 highway driving.

  2. Ford Focus, cheap to run, safe handling on the road, good overall performance, best small car I have ever owned.

  3. i would say go for the Toyota i bought mine in 2005 when i started college and its still works like new. i bought a 2004 used Toyota. at the same time i also had a friend that bought a brand new 2005 in 2006 and by the end of the year she had to take it in cause lights were showing up on her dash board.. so over all fords aren't really a great deal.

  4. Hey I have a 2000 Celica. I'm not exaggerating when I say this. Best investment I have ever made. I have a friend who thought his little Focus was the hottest thing since sliced bread. One ride in my celica and he was throwing rocks at it. Very good gas mileage, very sporty feel, and incredibly reliable. The guy that owned it before me did every horrible thing he could do to the car short of dumping it in a lake, and when i got it it ran like new after a new clutch. It also accepts modifications very well. I race the h**l out of mine and still manage to get about 330 miles to the tank. You can find them relatively cheap (I got mine for 7k) and they aren't too rare. And let's just face it here. Pull up a picture of a Celica and put it beside a little Focus. Have I made my point here? Celica FTW

  5. Whatever you decide to do, please do not buy a Ford. Ford stand for found on the road dead and fixed and repaired daily. I had one and the higher it get in mileage, the more problems. I would suggest to you, either the Celica, because it is a more dependable car and will be your money worth. Please make the right choice and do not let some fast talking salesperson make you believe the so called pros verses the other, because they are all lies, lies lies, I tell you. Believe I was a FAST talking saleswoman and it is a trick..... For now though, I am telling the heart and statistic felt TRUTH...................

  6. Personally, stick with Toyota, they have more reliable cars.
