  1. peru

  2. Well, people are going to tell you to go to their own country for obvious reasons but it all depends on what you want as these 3 countries are quite different. Let me explain:

-Peru is more multicultural and has 4 natural regions (sea, coast, highlands and jungle therefore more opportunity for travelling) Lima is a modern city with all modern comfort things but the "cultural" life is not that extensive. However, the food is absolutely the best, it's now the gourmet capital of the Americas and it has a very rich historical background (Inca culture) Lima is a hot spot for travellers as it is in a strategic position (coast, middle of South America, etc)

    - Argentina is a bigger country and has a more "european flavour" It has a richer cultural life, full of theatres and museaums, etc. The provinces are well developed and you have beautiful places like Mendoza, Bariloche, Patagonia, Ushuaia, the glaciers, etc. The food is great, mostly beef, wine, alfajores, dulce de leche, etc. Buenos Aires can be hectic at times but as a capital city it has more "flair" than the others.

    - Uruguay is similar to Argentina but it is a smaller country and it is still a calm and quite secure place to live. It has nice beaches like Punta del Este and food is good too. Montevideo is a smaller city.

So it really depends on which of these three suit you better and suit your personality. Peru is on the Pacific, Argentina and Uruguay on the Atlantic. I've been to all of them, lived in Peru and Argentina and have visited Uruguay 3 times. I love them all three and I would chose (my personal choice) Peru as it suits me and my personality better but it will all come down as which one suits your lifestyle. Good luck chosing!

  3. Buenos Aires is the most fun, Montevideo the safest and probably cheapest, and you can always go to Punta del Este in the summer

in my opinion both these cities are the most similar to the US
