  1. rugby all the way!

  2. Rugby, Rugby, Rugby.

With Rugby, you can play for years and still have fun.  I think the only route for participating in football (I mean American football that is) is to be a cheerleader.  That's certainly a much different proposition for you own entertainment.

Rugby isn't anymore dangerous than football (and in my opinion less dangerous) if you have coaches and officials who know what they are doing.  Coaches should be teaching you proper techniques for tackling, being tacked, rucking, mauling and general open play.  Officials should be controlling the game so that people don't get over aggressive.

Rugby is a great game and there are opportunities to continue in the the game after you get older.  You can even represent your country.  You can't EVER do that in American Football.

  3. Rugby.  Like the above said, with American football you're going to have limited playing opportunities at best.  Rugby is definitely a rough sport, but it's pretty safe since no one has pads and gets delusions of invincibility.  Plus, with rugby you can play in high school, college, and afterwards.  You'll make the best friends ever

  4. Rugby is physically harder than Football.  Show your Mum the movie "Bend it like Beckham" so she can see football

Rugby is fun.  Tell your Mum that you will be a free running and big kicking fullback.
