im 13, 5,7 and i weigh around 135 pounds. i trail ride and ocationally go to the track. most my buddies have 250fs and i need a bike that can keep up with them because i cant afford one. i know the 230 is built like a tank, but what about the durability of the 150r? and how long would it be before it needed a top end rebuild? because thats like $1000.

  1. well im only 5'5'' and ride a 250 fourstroke and love it, if thats what ur buddies have i'ld say you should go for that one, but a 250 is a much bigger bike and a lot heavier make sure you can handle it before purchasing one, maybe ask your friends if they will let you ride it to see if you like it

  2. first off it doesnt cost like $1000 to rebuild the top end, on a yz 125 its about $90.

but if you want to minimize the chances of your top end fallin apart clean your air filter all the time then spray it down with a lubrication, i forget the name but it makes it so your filter sucks less dirt and more air. when you get your top rebuilt they basicly give you new o-rings

but i would recomend a yamaha. They have more rip than a honda. but if you dont like yamaha get a kawasaki, they tear the dirt up and are super easy to handle.

yamaha- wr 250 or ttr 230

    kawasaki- 250f or 250

    ktm- ktm 144

  3. I am 5 9 14 years old and ride a KX 250 2 stroke and its not to much for me They are both pretty slow bikes so you should get the faster 230
