Think about this: If we get even the maximum global warming, the ice melts. Poles warm up. A few species die. Coasts flood. OK, well that's bad. But acid rain and other pollutants destroy far more species: Poisons in water kill fish and plants, acid rain kills many acres of trees, destroying ecosystems. I think that's worse, personally. First, put in the scrubbers. Then stop the fossil fuels. Anyway, if the planet does warm, the poles will warm a lot more than the rest of the planet, potentially giving us more space to live and grow food. and let's worry about deforestation first, too. That even causes global warming. And let's not forget how much coal America has for the taking--lot's of energy to use.
