Which should you switch on/off first? Active speakers or mixer?

I have two active speakers (amp built in) which I am running out from my mixer, when I switch the speakers off I'm getting a bit of a "bump"/"pop" sound. Is this to do with the order I am switching things off/on? Which should I turn on/off first, the active speakers or the mixer?

To power up:

mixer on then speakers

To power down:

speakers off then mixer

No bumps will be heard.
